Released yesterday, Evolve has a new way to play: Arena Mode. Skipping the cat and mouse hunt that is the staple of other modes, this one drops the hunters and a Stage 2 monster right into the combat of a battle arena for intense, best of three matches to the death. Five fixed arenas are placed on 14 of Evolve’s maps for a total of 70 locations to brawl, with the location switching every round.

In other Evolve news, the Evolve Proving Grounds Tournament produced by the ESL is also underway exclusively on Xbox One. The European Semifinals took place at ESL’s Cologne, Germany studio on May 24th, and the North American Semifinals will take place at ESL’s Burbank, Calif. Studio on May 31st. The top two teams from each regional semifinal will compete in the Global Finale in Los Angeles on June 17th for a piece of the $100,000 prize pool. The Evolve Proving Grounds Tournament Grand Finale will take place in front of a live studio audience at Club Nokia in Los Angeles on June 17th and will be broadcast live on Twitch at http://twitch.tv/EvolveGame.
