Vampyr draws open the curtain somewhere around/after 1920’s London. A particularly nasty strain of H1N1 influenza killed off tens of millions around the globe. But, just to add a little spice, 20th century Britain also has a plague of vampires running in the shadows.

Vampyr is an upcoming role-playing game from Dontnod, creators of Remember Me and Life is Strange. (Both of which are excellent, by the way.)

You’ll be one of these upper-class undead. It’ll be your chance to play out your creepy, stalker fantasies on the unwitting citizenry of jolly old England. “Absolutely all characters in the game are potential victims of your vampiric lust. Carefully study the habits of your next victim, his or her relationships with other characters, and set up your strategy to feed, unnoticed: seduce them, change their daily habits, or make sure they end up alone in a dark street.”

Those are some lofty concepts, Vampyr. You’re looking like you’re still in the concept-art stage, so I’m keeping my wary eye on you. “Be careful who you choose to hunt, as they will be gone forever, and their death will impact in a meaningful way the world that surrounds you.” See? There you go again, making lofty promises. But I like where you’re going with this. Exploration, seduction, melee combat, crafting, vampire powers? Let’s see how this shapes up over the next couple years.

Vampyr is spitballing for a 2017 release on PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
