DC Comics and Ed Boon’s Netherrealm Studios are teaming up once again. No, this isn’t for Injustice 2 (which I do hope is coming). Instead, they are teaming up to set the stage for the upcoming Mortal Kombat X. The two have joined forces to produce a comic book series that will set the stage for the upcoming game.

Mortal Kombat X: The Comic Book series is now available through comic book stores, DC’s website, and the Comixology app / website. The storyline being laid should help bridge the gap between the end of Mortal Kombat 9 and where things will begin when you start the game in April. I have read the first issue that was released earlier this week and must say that there are a lot of familiar faces making a return, at least in the story. Perhaps this series will slowly give us a clearer picture of who we can expect to play as in the game.
