Hatoful Boyfriend: Holiday Star remake on Steam next week, PS4 the week after
“The world’s leading romantic bird simulator series” is back this holiday season with Hatoful Boyfriend: Holiday Star. If it seems like you’ve already heard this announcement years ago, it’s hard to blame you. Hatoful Boyfriend has had half a dozen launches/re-launches/remakes since 2011.
Holiday Star, however, is the Holiday-themed remake (natch) of Hatoful Boyfriend, with more birdies to love in more places to love those birdies. Holiday Star has been on PC, internationally, since 2012. But the PC/OS X/Linux remake shows up on December 15, and the PS4/PS Vita remake on December 22.
Whew. Look. You already know if you’re the type of person that needs to play this game. I gave it a 7.4 in my review, but, admittedly, that’s from a person that knew nothing about the conventions of a typical Japanese visual novel. Even I had to admit that there was something very interesting—and altogether unexpected—threading through Hatoful Boyfriend‘s storyline.
Once more for clarity: The Hatoful Boyfriend: Holiday Star remake comes out for PC on December 15, and for PlayStation 4 and PS Vita on December 22. Coooo!
