Marvel Puzzle Quest makes a surprise appearance on PSN

It isn’t very often that a game gets released without anyone knowing that is was coming. Today just happens to be one of those occasions and the included game happens to be one that I love. The PlayStation Blog has revealed that Marvel Puzzle Quest is launching on both the PS3 and PS4 later today.

The game originates on mobile devices and PC’s as a free to play puzzle game. I had a very unhealthy addiction to the game that lasted nearly a year before I moved on to Marvel Future Fight. It plays like the standard Puzzle Quest experiences but with a deeply embedded Marvel setting.

It is unsure if the PSN versions will be free to play like the original versions, as some of the language used in the PS Blog posting refer to there being “standard” means of playing the game as opposed to the F2P experience. Based on that, it could very well be possible that there is a paid version of the game, possibly in addition to the standard F2P release, being released on the PlayStation Store.

Hopefully we will be able to get more details when the PlayStation Store updates later this afternoon.
