MKX to allow players to try DLC for free

There is nothing worse then spending your hard-earned money on a new, DLC character in a fighting game only to find out that you really don’t like playing as them. Netherrealm Studios doesn’t want you to have that experience with Mortal Kombat X, which is why players will be able to play as Jason Voorhees, Predator, Tremor, and Tanya in the Challenge Tower portion of the game. The feature was revealed by Ed Boon in a recent interview with Angry Joe:

“So for instance, if [DLC character Jason Voorhees] comes along, you’re going to have a Jason tower that you can play as Jason. And you can even use that tower if you didn’t purchase Jason. So it’s really cool, it gives the players a taste of what the character and what it’s like to play them.”

It will be nice to get a sample of the DLC experience before deciding to drop the money. Considering that the season pass for the game is $30, I am expecting the characters themselves to be rather costly, probably $9.99 piece, so this is definitely a welcome addition.
