Earlier this year, Nyko announced the impending release of the Type Pad for Xbox One, which is their version of the mini-keyboard for Microsoft’s console. The Type Pad features a Qwerty layout, .com shortcut button and is backlit in a green hue that is reminiscent of the colors associated with the original version of the massive game release hitting the Xbox One this week. A couple of new add ins are a small mini-analog nub for quick menu navigation and the previously mentioned “.com” shortcut key.

I previously had the official qwerty keyboard accessory for the Xbox 360 controller and loved the additional weight and balance it added as well as the ease of typing when entering on-screen. As the consoles continue to become more interactive, and requests for logins for apps and webpages become more frequent, I feel it is almost a necessity to have some sort of keyboard accessory to speed up the process.

The Type Pad for Xbox One is available at GameStop, Amazon or the Nyko online store for $34.99.
