Rescue 2 didn’t start the fire, it was always burning since the world’s been turning

Despite being the first responders to many a citywide emergency, there aren’t a whole lotta games about firefighters out there. Starting fires in video games is cool. Putting them out? Not so much. Just think about walking around as Geralt of Rivia in The Witcher 3. That dude can light any candle or campfire with the snap of his fingers. Do you ever walk around making Geralt put out fires? No. You don’t. Putting out fires doesn’t garner as high of a Metacritic.

Rescue 2: Everyday Heroes looks at the other side of that coin. There are fires somewhere out there within city limits, and you’ve gotta put ’em out. I know you’re a knuckle-dragging hoseman in the making. Now get out there, probie, and make your department proud. Maybe someday you’ll climb the ranks from a peon firefighter to an engineer, the engine driver. Get enough experience in your turnout gear and you just might make captain or chief, running multiple fire stations throughout the city.

Rescue 2: Everyday Heroes has been out on PC and Mac as of June 3.
