Rock out in VR with Rock Band VR
Rock Band is coming to the PC? Rock Band is going VR? Looks like it.
At The Video Games Awards last night, Oculus announced that Rock Band VR will be coming next year to the Oculus Rift. Since the Rift is a PC peripheral, we can deduce that the series will be hitting the PC platform for the first time. There’s not much information other than some video on how it currently looks at the end of the video, but it’s nice t hat PC owners will finally be able to play the premier musical game without having to get a console to do so.
The short look doesn’t even show a track lane but just the ability to look around and see the crowd and the stage. One thing does come to mind is I wonder if drumming can be done with just the Oculus Touch controllers, no drum set needed. They can make a virtual drum set and the controllers could certainly mimic you hitting the skins in real time without any issues, but you’ll miss that feedback of doing it for real. Still, drumming with just the Touch controllers and the headset would save a ton of space.
