Sonic Boom: Fire & Ice announced

When it comes to the portable Sonic games, I’ve rarely come across one that I didn’t like (Sonic Lost World kind of tip-toed that line a bit).  That being said, Sega has announced the next game in the Sonic Boom series, Sonic Boom: Fire & Ice.  The game will mix fire and ice elements throughout the game which will enable new abilities to play out via special character moves and interactions as Sonic, Tails, Knuckles, Amy, and Sticks take on a new villain: D-Fekt (given the nature of the series as a whole, that name doesn’t surprise me in the least).  Sonic Boom: Fire & Ice will launch this holiday season.

In addition to that announcement, Sega also announced a new app called Sonic Central that will launch this summer for both iOS and Andriod.  Sonic Central will basically be a one-stop-shop for all things Sonic with exclusive art, wallpapers, character info, clips from the animated series, and more.  I’m really hoping that the app will cover more than just Sonic Boom, especially if it includes stuff from previous animated series such as Sonic X, Sonic SatAM, and Sonic Underground.
