A couple of days ago, Sean Cahill posted about an upcoming DLC for World of Tanks called The Siberian Wolf Pack that will bring players some of Russia’s deadliest tanks.  In the meantime Wargaming has released version 9.7 of World of Tanks that adds new features as well as a new branch of French tanks, a third historic map (Overlord), and tweaked some balancing rules.

Team Battles will now have permanent teams which can now have up to twelve members with seven battling at a time.  They can also have their own name and logo provided that team has played twenty rated matches.  Leaderboards have been added and are divided globally into six leagues that require a set number of points in order to qualify for each division and climb the ladder.

For the new French tanks, players will be able to check out two new light tanks and five new medium tanks, including the Tier 9 AMX 30 1st prototype and the Tier 10 AMX 30 B.  In addition, the new Overlord historic map takes players to a level inspired by the D-Day Landings at Normandy where they’ll be thrown into a chaotic environment of wreckage and destruction.
