Syndrome is taking scifi horror back to its roots

Camel 101 and Bigmoon Studios have just announced Syndrome, a back-to-basics scifi survival horror game that looks heavily influenced by Alien, Event Horizon and Pandorum. Your character awakes dazed and amnesiac aboard a drifting starship where the rest of the crew have been either killed or turned into something unpleasant. The trailer is a bit too dark but it definitely has its setting down and the gameplay looks like it will include gruesome features like harvesting limbs from dead crewmates.

I loved Alien: Isolation and I’m eager to play SOMA, so the more classic scifi horror the better I say. After Dead Space went off the deep end a few years back and Resident Evil continues to be a mockery of itself, we need more horror games that know their roots. Syndrome will be out sometime in Q2 of 2016.
