Turok is getting resurrected, possibly through cloning

Night Dive Studios is doing the gaming community a favor by bringing Turok Dinosaur Hunter and Turok 2: Seeds of Evil back from prehistoric death. Both titles will be optimized to run on modern computers and will be available on your digital platform of choice, including Steam, Humble Bundle, GamersGate and of course GOG.

I’m excited by this turn of events for two reasons. First, I’ve always wanted to play the Turok games but they never ran on modern PCs very well  and The mediocre 2008 reboot was no substitute. Sadly the fog, framerate and controls in the N64 versions made me nauseous; sorry but GoldenEye spoiled me. So basically I haven’t really had many options to play through the old Turok games.

Second, Night Dive did the excellent modern port of System Shock 2, an incredible game that I was dying to replay but couldn’t on my current rig. As far as I’m concerned these folks are doing God’s work resurrecting classics like these so I’ll gladly support them with my wallet as long as they want to keep working.
