I need an Oprah gif to go with this headline…

Anyways, seriously: Epic Games has started releasing weekly builds of the upcoming Unreal Tournament game for public consumption. Up until now, the playable builds were only being released to developers, but now anyone can get their hands on them by simply registering for the Epic forums. If you want to check out how the game is coming along, and please remember that this is still an early project, you just need to head over to to the official forums and check out the pre-alpha build thread. You will have your choice of a couple of builds, including both 32 and 64-bit Windows.

This is one game that a few of us here at the site are anxiously awaiting; we all have fond memories of old lan parties and gameplay sessions with our friends. Hell, we always talk about booting up UT2K whenever we have a game-outing (but never end up doing so for some reason). Maybe we need to look at throwing one soon just for the sake of trying one of the latest builds out…
