Arc Games‘ Xbox One MMO Neverwinter has reached 1.6 million players after a little over a month. This is good news for the genre, as it’s the console’s first MMO and was released only a few months shy of what we can now safely predict will probably be a much bigger launch, Elder Scrolls Online

Arc also gave us some gameplay statistics to let us know how much has been done since launch:

  • 2.3 million characters created
  • 86 million minutes played
  • 92,000 characters hit the level cap
  • 16 billion astral diamonds earned
  • 10 million parties formed
  • 1 billion enemies defeated
  • 92 players have taken out 1,000 dragons each (which is, as of now, one of the most valuable achievements on

Neverwinter is a great game, and I’ve really enjoyed my time with it. It’s also a great example of how to do a free to play MMO well, so hopefully its success here will serve as a guideline for future MMOs of the console.
